Maria KUMEROA Obituary

KUMEROA,
Maria Anne (nee Nuku):

We wish to express our sincere gratitude for the manaaki, aroha and tautoko given to Maria (Ma) and our whanau during her courageous battle with illness. Knowing Ma was never alone throughout her battle is much treasured. I want to acknowledge my Aunty Alana and Tony for sacrificing so much to care for Ma while she was at her worst. During this time, Alana you showed your amazing strength and Ma saw this in you too. You give us all strength moving forward. Special thanks to Mt Taranaki Holistic Health Centre and the Hospice team for the wonderful help given, genuine care and sensitivity shown to our Mother, Sister and Grandmother. To our Kaikarakia Gregg and Tina, it was a privilege to walk alongside you during our sad loss. Your guidance throughout has been much appreciated and will forever be grateful. To all our whanau, Taiporohenui marae, Hamua and Hapotiki Hapu for all your manaaki and tautoko during our tangihanga. A special thanks to Uncle Sandy and Aunty Lorna Parata being our Paetapu throughout our tangi. To nga Ringawera who worked tirelessly to sustain nga manuhiri. Thank you Fonterra and Steve Kara (Yahoo) for allowing all of Ma's workmates in the Canteen, the Drivers and many of Whareroa staff to share memories with our whanau. Thank you to all those who sent cards, flowers, text messages and travelled from near and far to bid our Mother farewell. Please accept this as a personal acknowledgement of our aroha extended to us during this sad time.
