Adair Reed McElynn, 91, passed peacefully on September 29, 2025 at her home in Dayton, Tennessee.
She was born on August 28, 1934, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to John and Melvina Smith Reed.
She worked as an accountant for several organizations including the former First Federal Savings and Loan and Robinson's Manufacturing Company in Dayton, TN.
Adair was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" McElynn, brother, Ronald Phillips, and daughter, Teresa Wooden Brunson.
Along with her two children, Sharon Wooden Reynolds of Athens, TN and Trevor (Cindy) Wooden of Dayton TN, she leaves a legacy of faith to her six grandchildren: Shane Reynolds of Athens, TN, Justin (Courtney) Brunson of Atlanta, GA, Marty (Justin) Gates of Canton GA, Chandra (Aaron) Smith, Tyler (Shae) Wooden, and Trenton Wooden all of Dayton, TN.
She is survived by fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Surviving siblings are Charlotte Weller and Nathan (Nina) Reed of Dayton, TN and Almedda Mullins of Chattanooga, TN.
The funeral service was held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 2pm in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Pastor Layne Pennington of Dayton First United Methodist Church officiating. The family received friends from 12PM until the time of the service. Burial followed at Kiuka Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dayton First United Methodist Church at 1035 Market Street, Dayton TN 37321.
