We got to know Alan and Beryl when they stayed in our house. We were supposed to be away sailing but the weather was bad so we stayed. What a wonderful time we had. The breakfast stories continued until lunch. And the friendship lasted. Allan was the most interesting, intelligent man with a wicked sense of humour and we communicated by email for years. His letters were precious and handed around our family who were always eager for Allan´s news. We feel privileged to have known him. Fly free Allan. X

Dear grandpa Allan, looking after you at Woodrow Grove really made my day. The laughter, cheekiness, smiles, the comments you made to me, there could never be no other like you. I will remember you for a very long time grandpa. ( Allan was not my grandpa, but to me, he will be for ever.) Raywene.
