As others have shared on here, I also had the privilege of having Mrs. Hooper teach me all the way back in year 3.
Though this was quite some time ago, I still remember my time in her class very fondly. We made picture books, played the flute, sung carols and made rice crispy slices. I know we did lots of the usual school stuff too, but I remember those things the best along with Mrs Hoopers lovely nature and fabulous crafts room. One of the best teachers I have ever had.

Such sad news. Ann "Mrs Hooper" was the best teacher in all my years. I was super lucky to have been in Anns care in primary school. She was a second mother to many of us in Tarata, and other areas too like Bell block. Mrs Hooper was loved and respected by parents, children and grandchildren. Her kind eyes and warm heart knew each child individually and she encouraged all. Her patience and cheeky giggle endeared her to everyone who met her. I will treasure my early childhood memories from school, a fun home birthday party, my 21st and wedding spent with Ann there. The painting lifted to me will be treasured for years to come. Love, hugs and condolences to all of Ann's family. Cheryl, Anthony, Jacob, Sean and Dave.

Sending our love to Ann's family at this sad time - she made us feel welcome at Aunty June Hooper's birthday party (my mum was June's sister-in-law Jean Fleming, nee Hooper), and I know she will be dearly missed.

Oh, how well I remember Ann as a teacher at Bell Block School.
She was extremely creative. Drove in from the farm every day. Lovely, intelligent person. She was extremely proud of her two daughters and loved Dave unconditionally. If I recall correctly, she was a great baker of cakes and enjoyed her crafts.
Kathryn, Suzanne and families, Ann will be a huge loss to all but there will be so many memories to recall in years to come.

Mrs Hooper was my year 4 teacher in 2012. I have vivid memories of asking her for a sharpener, and instead, watching her pull out a box-cutter and sharpen it like she was Bear Grylls.

She made us feel comfortable and welcome, something that was evidently clear when I confidently called her mum in front of the class. She was an awesome teacher, Thanks for everything Mrs Hooper!

So sad to hear that you have passed. You were a truly wonderful teacher and colleague. So creative and nurturing to the children in your care. You treated them fairly and encouraged them to develop their individuality and talents.
There will be many children who have a special place in their hearts for you.
It was an honour to have worked with you for many years, now rest peacefully.
Deepest sympathies to Ann´s family, you have lost a lovely lady.
