Arthur THOMPSON Obituary

THOMPSON, Arthur (No. 4455897, Pte, 9th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry, 50th Northumbrian Division, 1939 to 1945). - Passed away Wednesday, 23rd April, 2014, in New Plymouth. Just missed out on his 94th birthday. Much loved husband of the late Ethel for 52 years. Adored father and father-in-law of Adrienne and John Robertson (New Plymouth); Brenda and Murray Pedersen (Waipukurau). Much loved and respected Grandad and Great-Grandad of Hazel, Anna, Aaron and Jenna, Conrad and Ryder. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Celia and George, Margaret, Bill (all in United Kingdom) and his late siblings and in laws Joan and Ralph; Denis, Rita and Candy, and Sid. Dearly loved by all his family here and overseas.
A great soldier and raconteur laid to rest.
In accordance with Arthur's wishes a private service and committal has been held.
