Sorry for your loss. As a child with my parents I always remember the good times spent staying with Barry & Anne up Awakino. Truly good people. A real loss. Barry was very talented and contributed so much to nz .... and the world.
Cheers Barry.

On behalf of Wellesley College in Days Bay, Wellington (where Barrie attended 1941-1946), I would like to express our heartfelt sympathies for this loss. We have been lucky enough to be in regular contact with Barrie over recent years and have so enjoyed his insightful wisdom from a life well and truly being lived. The Wellesley library also holds a copy of Barrie's book Embrace the Challenge'. This is truly cherished. What a wonderful man. Our warmest wishes to all of Barrie's family at this sad time, Rosie Torbit, Wellesley College, Days Bay, Wellington.

Our thoughts are with you all at this time.
We have so many great memories through the 70s of water skiing at Awakino. Mokau and Tongaporutu.
Barry was also instrumental in getting TV into all the valleys in the area from Mt Messenger to Mahoenui in the north. Such a wonderful achievement. Then there were the electric dog collars. Another wonderful invention. Our deepest sympathy Gay and John Andrews, Okau.
