Condolences to the Hartley family. I remember Barry from both the Fire Service and in the diving scene. I dived with Barry when I was very new to the sport and had no fear when he was my buddy. He was very encouraging and filled me with the confidence to succeed. Also very supportive when working together on the NP Underwater Club committee. A very knowledgeable person, interesting to listen to and a great guy to be around. RIP Barry. You will be missed by the many who knew you.

Barry, enjoyed our diving trips together. You were a font of knowledge on all things conservation wise and always provided a considered opinion on other discussions. Thankyou. Keith Armstrong

Sad to read about Barry´s passing. Barry was Terry´s oldest friend, a friend through school and life. I always enjoyed our visits with Barry, especially learning something about our natural world. Sending my heartfelt condolences to the Hartley family, Wendy.

Thanks Barry for all help with learning to dive with you and Val. Your enthusiasm in diving and the beginning of underwater photography was lovely. The shots I have are still part of my diving life. Thanks again and my condolences to the famiily
