Ben CARR Obituary
Passed away peacefully on September 27 in Dunedin. Formerly of Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Ruapehu and Taranaki. Husband of the late Relda. Much loved by his daughters Anna and Christina: sons-in-law Brent and Michael; grandchildren Rebecca, Jessica, Tessa, Sophie and Riley (also their partners Jason, Matariki, Jack & James), and great-grandchildren Amelia, Ollie, and Thom. A special thank you to the caring staff of St Andrews. As Ben requested, a private cremation has been held. Messages to PO Box 386, Twizel.

Ben unwittingly became the link between two families, and two academic journeys for both of them. Ben was the first person to see my late husband, Terry, rock up to the Adolescent Dental Clinic in Hawera in 1956 - on his Army Indian and sidecar, something Ben never forgot. Fifty-one years later, that inconsequential event became the glue which led to a friendship with Anna, his daughter, at Otago University. That friendship has taken wonderful, wondrous turns, cementing Terry´s legacy as an Otago Dental School graduate, and my ongoing association with the University. Anna and family - my heartfelt condolences and love to each of you. Ben´s memory - and memories - will always be with you, and thank you so much for sharing them. Wendy
