Condolences to the Kavanagh family. One of life's gentlemen has passed. A man who gave us the opportunity to grow our business and all done on a verbal agreement and a handshake.

Danny has many good memories of race days with Bren & Strawb and Joan and brothers often visited Jim & Alison in Hawera. My sisters and I remember the Kavanaghs coming to visit us on Skeet Road as Mum was their cousin and the best cups and saucers always came out on those occassions, Bren always had lots of jokes and plenty of cheek for everyone. A very kind and generous man who will be missed by so many. Condolences to all Kavanagh families. Maureen & Danny Bonner

Bren was a great friend of both sides of my family. I was born in Hawera where my family lived for three generations with my father and grandfather knowing the Kavanagh family well. In 1967, by chance, Bren met Bill Tung, who was visiting from Hong Kong, at the Hawera races and they became lifelong friends. Bill was my (unknown at the time!) future father n law, hence the relationship with both sides. We will always remember Brendan for his warmth and generosity and the friendship shared over four generations. May he rest in peace. Allen Chong and family

Brendon was unique, never knew anyone else like
him and loved his quirky sense of humour and his
practical jokes, not to mention imitating Indians in
speech and actions, fantastic friend with horses over the years and absolutely unforgettable. Great cups of tea with Paddy, Strawb and Joan as well, so good on you Brent, love from Val, Phillip
and Phillip Jones ex Mokoia.

My condolences to the Kavanagh family, especially Peggy ( Spain). First met Brendan when we went to Sacred Heart College in Auckland together 74 years ago, a great friend to many and always very generous with time and money, great sense of humour, and always up for a practical joke.
Not widely appreciated but the Kavanagh family made a fine contribution to dairying in Taranaki when they agreed to sell part of their farm to Kiwi back in the 60s.
Farewell to a lifetime friend. Rest in peace Bren.

My condolences to the Kavanagh family.
I first met Brendan at Hawera Convent School when I moved from Stratford. I knew nobody, and Brendan became my friend. Our friendship continued during our time at Sacred Heart College in Auckland, and after that, we both returned to Hawera, farming and later buying neighbouring farms.
Farewell, old friend,
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
