Brian HAUGHTON Obituary

Brian Haughton, our very special uncle, died in palliative care on 3rd December 2025. Uncle is much missed by his nieces Robyn and Wendy and nephews Richard, David and Tony and by their spouses. Aged 95, Uncle was the last man standing of his generation in our wider family. Well done, Uncle. On behalf of my brothers and sisters, we share our thanks for our wonderful time and experiences in our younger days we had with Uncle and his long deceased wife, (our aunt) Jenny (nee Rose) on their farm at Lincoln Road, Inglewood. At Labour Weekend 2025, Uncle was joyous in self-celebration as the oldest living past pupil at the Westown School Centenary. Sadly, immediately after that event, his body declined rapidly but often still showed his super sharp mind for history over his entire life. The last weeks of his life were spent in palliative care firstly at the Base Hospital and lastly at his retirement village hospital. Our sincere thanks are offered to all the clinical and care staff who have supported Uncle over his latter life and most recently in palliative care. We would also like to offer our heartfelt thanks to our and Uncle's friend, Fiona, who did so much for Uncle once his mobility declined in recent years. Uncle had requested the simplest finality to his physical life and accordingly, there will be no service. Messages to the family can be sent to [email protected]

To all the Haughton family this is such a sad thing to be reading in your loose of Brian.
Brian was a much loved client and friend to us, when it was time for the horse trims and shoes.
We have known Brian and Jenny from our Pony Club years, back in the day. I´m sure they have found one another and riding high !

Our sincere Sympathy with the passing of Brian. Yes a fun man and a very bright man. Brian lived on the farm at Waitorki for some years . He used to trot pass our place with his little horse and cart when we lived in Waitoriki. He will be missed deeply by many.
