Sad to hear of Brian's passing.
We watched the live stream of the funeral as were unable to come up at this time, and were so pleased we made time to visit when we were last up in Auckland.

Dear Shona & family. My condolences on Brian's passing. I well remember the Powell family from their time in Ohangai/Meremere.Syd and Edna were characters as was Elsie, Edna's sister. All friends of my parents.... long ago... 1950s. Much fun was had with Bev, Joy, Graeme - though Brian was a bit older. Do I remember him getting a pilot's licence? The name of Haybittle/Holloway arises. As has Ashworth, I see. Len Ashworth was Principal at Meremere - the indomitanle Mrs Purcell at Ohangai. Funerals are a time of recollection, reconnection and letting go. God bless.
