I never had Dr Tyrrell teach me. I was always looking forward to having her a my teacher in the future.
She helped me with Kapa Haka and always loved to sing.

My older brother is slightly autistic. He has no friends and when he was at year 10 school camp, he sat by himself so Dr Tyrrell went up to him and did experiments with him by the fireplace.
He also remembers the biology trip this year with Dr Tyrrell and how she helped him find a dolphin skull with a dead crab inside.

I will remember Dr Tyrrell forever and will always deeply miss her.
She had such a loving and caring soul and was such an amazing person.

I was (and still am) both shocked and heartbroken to hear of the passing of my friend, Claudine.

Claudine was a long-time friend, a guiding light in times of darkness and a voice of reason in the cacophony.

Our lives are better for her having touched them and I want to extend my sincerest sympathies to her family and loved ones... I hope the memory of all that she was, all that she did and all that she gave can somehow ease the shock and pain of her sudden passing...

You will be missed Claudine. Such a sad news. All my warm thoughts to Claudine's family and friends in this hard time.
I will remember fondly the singing/guitar/ukulele evenings at Cliffs Road. It was so nice to hear you sing and a lovely few years flatting with the best seaviews in town. One of the funniest memories will be that day when Claudine decided to take some fish head soup (that she was cooking at home) in a travel mug when we went to watch Where The Wild Things Are at the cinema... Ah ah!... It was not meant to smell that much but I'm pretty sure everyone who was at that session now associates it with fish :) Another funny one was Claudine's tomato plants on the kitchen window which from the beach or the esplanade look rather like something different and gave us a few giggles and interesting conversations!!
Memories to cherish. Good bye Claudine.

Claudine's singing voice was angelic, she taught me to hold a note as we girls echoed "dona nobis pacem" to noone in particular up the Zoology Dept stairwall during late night thesis writing missions. Such appropriate words now, wishing you peace. My thoughts go out to your family in this time of sadness.

I was so shocked to hear of Claudine's passing. She was so vibrant. I was firstly a fellow student, then taught her classes when she brought them to the NZ Marine Studies Centre. She will be sorely missed. My sympathies to get friends and family.
