Darling STEWART Obituary

(Tamehana) (late of Berhampore & Turangi), passed surrounded by loved ones on 27th March 2025, at home, aged 70 years. Dearly loved partner of Ben. Loving & much loved mother of Michelle. Daughter of Hare (Charlie) & Toni Ellen (Te Whata). Loved by all her wider family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wellington Free Ambulance would be appreciated and may be made online at www.wfa.org.nz/donate. A service for Darling will be held at The Cockburn St Chapel, Cnr Onepu Rd & Cockburn St, Kilbirnie on Thursday 3rd April 2025 at 11.00am, thereafter a private cremation.

My dear friend...I recall the day we meet more than 45years ago. Oh, the fun we had. Whenever we passed through Turangi we'd stop in and see your mum and dad. Toni was always filling up our glasses and encouraging us to stay a bit longer. And I'd always keep an eye out for you when I was in Newtown. You will be sorely missed. Ataata taku hoa. Lots of love to Ben and Michelle

We lived next door to Darling and her parents in Turangi. My brothers used to sing the song Clemintine "oh my darling, oh my darling" were the only words they said when she walked out of the house. Poor girl. Toni & Charlie were great neighbour's to our mum. We lost touch with Darling once we all moved away. Special memories.
