It was with sadness that we heard about David's passing.
David was a cherished member of St John's Church in Kaponga.
We got to know David when he was still part of St Mark's across the road as he was an important part of our house group, aways friendly with a quick smile.
We were fortunate to have both Dave and Lucy join our St John's church and they have been such an important part of our church family.
David was part of our worship committee for many years and was still leading music worship up till last year making such a great contribution to the service but more importantly he had a very deep and genuine faith that he shared with us encouraging us all.
David will be missed by all of us and we pray that God's presence will be with Lucy and all of his family over this time of loss and hopefully comforted by knowing that David will be in God's presence now.
Both Ann and I are both disappointed that we were unable to attend the funeral.
All our love from Steve and Ann Nicholas

Such time-stopping news Lucy.. one of life's 'true gentlemen' was David. I so enjoyed listening to his strong Cornish brogue as he chatted happily about anything and everything that interested him. Kaponga Lions Clube days and antics come to the fore right now- especially those wintertime progressive dinners. 'A friend to many' is an apt description of you David, for that is what you were, and your cheery disposition belies your years. Rest easy and rest in peace now- my sincere condolences to you Lucy and yours- we are all just that little bit poorer due to his his passing, yet infinitely richer for having even known him.
