Devastated to learn of David's passing. Sincerest sympathy to Sandra and family.
I shared David's enthusiasm when he said he was looking to buy an Adventure Bike. I assured him we would have no problem getting a group ride organized.
I very much enjoyed David's company at our chat group at Fern Lodge on Friday evenings. He shared some interesting stories.
I will certainly miss his hearty laugh.

To Sandra, Heather, Brian and Stephanie and families. I am so sorry and heartbroken to know of your loss of your dear sole mate and father, grandad and brother. David was such a fun, kind and gentle person, with a cheeky twinkle in his eye.
He was doing what he loved but it will be so hard for you to be without him now. Take strength in each other and I wish you love and light to help you through the sadness of your loss. Judi Lee

Sandra and family. On behalf of the New Plymouth Classic Motorcycle Club I would like to extend our condolences to you all. Whilst a relatively new member, it was evident that David was an avid motorcyclist and extremely competent mechanic when working on any two wheel make and model. His cheeky laugh and sense of humor were greatly appreciated.
Within the past month he attended our regular Wednesday ride and experienced an enjoyable time.
He will be sorely missed by his family, many friends and acquaintances.
Rest In Peace David.

I was shocked, saddened and in disbelief when I was told of David's passing. After knowing him over 12 years, and working side by side and rostered together for over 6 years, David wasn't a work colleague, he was more like family. We both shared our inner most pride and adoration for each of our families( and I feel like I know them, without even meeting them). On David's last trip offshore, he was able to stage through Brisbane and met my family. They all shared my sentiment, and all stated when he left for home, that David was not only a true gentlemen, but a real character and his booming laugh was incredibly infectious. I could go on for hours with some the stories... Maybe I can pass them onto Brian in the future. As the tears stream down my face as I write this, my thoughts and well wishes are for you, David's family. Love to all, Taff X

It was a pleasure to meet David here in Texas, as he prepared his motorbike for their adventures. He appeared to be quite the character, we enjoyed a few stories of his past exploits, it was a real shock to hear of his unexpected passing. Our heartfelt condolences to his Family.

My best memory was David sharing his space and tool box with me so I could rebuild my Ducati Darmah, I was only aloud this privilege because I was tidy and put all the tools back, then laughing his head off when thing went pear shaped and I swore out loud. I will always remember that laugh of your David Norton, rest peacefully my friend.
