Delcie ECCLESHALL Obituary

I´m so sorry to hear this, a wonderful, caring, independent and switched on lady until the end.
Delcie was a wonderful friend to my Mum, Lenore, in their years together at Annie Brydon. We often said it was a shame they met so late in life as they got on so well and cared deeply for each other.
I called in to see Delcie when passing through Hawera last year and told her I looked forward to visiting her again at 100! Sadly that is not to be.
Rest easy lovely lady.

What a shock it was to find Delcie had passed when I called in for our usual fortnightly catch up at the rest home . I had the pleasure of knowing Delcie for the last 10 years. She was an incredibly strong and independent woman who had experienced a wonderful long life in amazing physical and mental shape! Delcie loved gardening, music and animals, including her regular fortnightly cuddle with my little Jack Russell. She raised a significant amount of money during her lifetime for the Hawera Riding for the Disabled through the selling of her stamps. She leaves a large void for those of us who knew her.

No more chats. Now where do i go for my envelopes. You were such a great age.
