Aussie Haighs & Plummers

August 30, 2024

This is heartbreaking to write and the Aussie Haigh's & Plummer's send much love to all. Dianne is family.  She was always very giving and reliable.  She lived and breathed for her family and would always talk highly of her kids and grandkids.
Chris remembers when she first met Di, "we had a meal together featuring the heart of a large steer, amongst other organs, this was a friendship for life". Dianne was easy to talk to about anything.  Together (pregnant with Tania) they would frequent the Lido swimming pool in Palmerston North, enjoying the sun, a cool dip and picnic on the grass.
A memory from Nev, Di was driving a truck on the road and she noticed a wheel speeding past her.  Strange! Yes, that was a wheel off Di's moving vehicle.  Not fazed, Di pulled over and dealt with it.   Nev thought that was very impressive.
An avid gardener, Dianne saw an opportunity to freshen up Nev & Chris's place, with beautiful hardy plants that are still thriving today..
A memory from Sandy, "In the late 80s, Christmas at Nana's (Maude's), leg warmers were the most sought after fashion accessory.  Big love to Di, she made leg warmers for her daughters and all her nieces. We all thought we looked so cool, especially when we danced together.
Dianne was one of a kind.  You will be missed and always remembered. Rest in Peace Dianne.

To Rod, Marie, and all of Dianne's immediate family,
We were both so shocked to hear of her passing. I have known Dianne since we were 5 years old, we grew up as friends through primary school then college, played sport and socialized together, and even though we lost touch when she moved to Taranaki, we reconnected again years later it was like we had never been apart, laughing and giggling like we did when we were young, such a fun caring special lady who will leave a big gap in all our lives.
We talked recently about creating memories for our grandchildren and am sure you all have many fun ones with her.
Unfortunately we are unable to make the funeral as i have just had a hip replacement on Monday, but will be with you watching it live streamed
In our hearts forever, Love Jeanie & David Boderick
PS The photo I have attached was one I had sent to her recently, told her it was the only time I was taller than her which she thought was funny :-)

My sincere sympathy to all of Diannes family.I have fond memories in those early days of sitting at the Dining table having lunch or a cuppa ,as a Sales Representative, endeavouring to lighten the pockets of the Haigh family ,and with great hope to clinch a sale with Diannes extra approval. There was always fun and laughter ,but not always a sale ,but the friendship extended to me far out weighed any sales ,and I have great memories of Dianne the Mum and host in those days.May that Family Bond be your strength at this sad time .It was always a joy to visit the Haigh farm .My Love & Prayers go to you all ,LIndsay Maindonald ,Eltham.
