Grandpa
You loved me even when you weren´t meant to, and you never stopped choosing me.
Your love was steadfast, quietly rebellious, loyal without permission, defiant and unconditional. That kind of love is rare and brave, it took courage and I´ll forever be grateful to have known it.
I would´ve loved to have had the opportunity to be there today to say goodbye one last time. Thank you for everything. I´ll carry you in my heart forever. I love you x

"A man´s friendships are one of the best measures of his worth."
Don and Noel were friends from the day they met at Omata School, and that bond remained strong throughout their lives. In their younger days they were inseparable - cars, dances, Tukapa rugby, and trips away (with Don often carsick), memories that speak to a deep and enduring friendship.
Don and Bev became such a special and valued part of our family, and their friendship meant a great deal to us all.
We are deeply saddened by the news of Don´s passing and extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family.

Allan remembers bailing the hay for Don and Beverley in the 1960's and catching up with the Waite Family at the unveiling on The Upjohn Headstone on Mangorei Road, this was a special time for the descendants and made Don very Happy to finally see where his Great Great Grandparents were laid to rest. Rest in Peace you are now Don back with your beloved Beverley.
