David Koester Obituary

Dave lived a few blocks away, and was a good pal. He was a serious kid, and liked to tinker with things. He explored spoke guns and explosives with me and Peter Day. A good, conscientious fellow...God Bless him. Dave's Mom was a lovely lady and put up with our nonsense at their house.

I think of Dave and a mutual friend of ours, Pete Day, who gave his life in the Army. We had a lot of fun in our neighborhood in Modesto. Dave was a trusted friend, intelligent, funny, and curious. God Bless him and his family.

I met Dave at Modesto Hobbies and Crafts one day in 1980, he quickly invited himself over to see my model railroad I was building. We became good friends and he taught me a lot about painting locomotives. He had a wealth of knowledge he was willing to share. He used to put a quarter on my railroad track to cause a electrical short and stop operations and ask "what`s wrong? "Funny! I lost contact as he went on to fly model planes and shot. He did call and visited me in October 2016, it was great to see him. I miss him. I am sorry for the families loss.

I was a playmate of Dave's when I lived a couple of blocks away on Tully Road...way back when. Dave, Peter Day and I were the 3 musketeers for a while. Rest in peace, Dave, and condolences to family and friends.

I knew Dave whenever I went to the Modesto area. I always heard good things about him.

I never worked with Dave but Hecter Herrera and Gary Detweiler always talked about what a great guy he was. Always heard good about Dave!

scott and family i sorry for your loss,David was a good friend and co-worker. we word together for a good 25 yrs. and was also a good mentor. he will be missed by all who knew him. My pray are with you and family.
