Missing you

CHRISTENSEN, Maling. - After a long and courageous battle Dad is at peace and will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. Loved daughter and father-in-law of Delwyn and Lionel Beecher. Loved Grandad and Great-Grandad of John, Nicole, Charlize, Scarlett and Lachlan Ricketts (Adelaide) and Steven, Kase and Tyler Ricketts (Nelson). Our prayers are with you for a safe journey.

Dad, this helps to write down how Im feeling. This last four weeks has been the longest ive known. You're not in your chair when I go there to ask how the farm is and how work is. I know it selfish but wish you were still with us, but am happy you are now resting in peace. Mum misses you so much but we are all looking after her and supporting her as you knew we would. Once this book closes Im going to keep writing to you so that I don't keep things inside. Love you forever Dad xxx Leeanne

So sorry to hear of Maling's passing. I remember how Mum and Dad had such a high regard for Maling. Only Maling was good enough to bale our hay at Auroa (dad was fussy). I was only a little tacker. But every time he baled our hay, I had to stand at the gate and give Maling a nice cold bottle of beer, as he headed for home. I don't remember doing this for anyone else.
