Elizabeth HORNE Obituary
On 30 May 2022, at Tainui Village, aged 95 years. Much loved wife of Quentin (dec); dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Jocelyn and Ian (dec), and Richard (dec); much loved grandmother of Grant and Angela, Stephen and Anita; adored great-grandma of Zoe and Alexander, Samantha, Finlay and Harper; loved sister and sister-in-law of Mollie and Peter (both dec), Ngaire and Ian (dec), Ailsa and Ewen; loved aunty of her nieces and nephews and their families. Special thanks to the staff of Tainui Rest Home for your love and care of Elizabeth. Donations to Taranaki Hospice would be appreciated and may be made on-line at TSB Bank 15 3948 0365008 080. A service to celebrate Elizabeth's life will be held at the Taranaki Interim Cathedral, Vivian Street, New Plymouth, on Thursday 2 June 2022 at 2.00pm.

Elizabeth was a staff nurse when i stared my nursing training back in 1968. She was an amazing mentor and an encourager. We continued to communicate yearly by christmas cards.

I think your grandmother was a nurse ? if so I worked with her in my early days as a nurse, approx 1980 she was such a wonderful staff member, had a great sense of humour and always helpful.

Was a lady who was always immaculate and loved the regular contact she had with her family and friends. She immersed herself into Tainui life and participated in all the activities especially quizzes, knitting and socialising. As a wife, mother and nurse you gave so much to others, asking for little in return. It is time to hand the mantle to the next generation. Tainui residents and staff extend their sympathy to Liz's family.
