Fiona COLLINS Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fiona, who peacefully left us on Tuesday, 8th April 2025, at Taranaki Base Hospital, aged 84 years. Dearly loved wife of Wayne, and the cherished mother and mother-in-law of Paul and Deborah, Grant and Marius, Mark and Catherine, and Sonya. She was a beloved Nana to Baileigh and Orlaith. A devoted sister, aunt, and friend, Fiona's kindness and warmth touched the hearts of all who knew her. A funeral service to celebrate Fiona's life will be held at St. Patrick's Church, Kaponga, on Monday, 14th April 2025, at 11.00am. Following the service, Fiona will be laid to rest at the Kaponga Cemetery.

Hold tight to your precious memories. To the lessons she taught you and the influence she had in your lives. Fiona was an inspiring voice when she spoke. She took on the THB at a community meeting when they wanted to close Hawera Hospital. She cared for her community. Deepest sympathy to all her family as you now learn to navigate life without your precious wife mum and Nana.

I have often been onstage with Fiona at the Hawera Women's Club, and produced plays in which she took part. She was a darn good actress - and a lot of fun! She will be very much missed.

Was saddened to see the death notice of Fiona Collins in this morning´s copy of the Taranaki Daily News via Legacy.com, Truly a gracious lady.
To Wayne and sons Paul, Grant and Mark, whom I remember from their days at FDMC, I extend my sincere sympathy on her passing.
With her death, the curtain finally comes down on so much of your own lives, leaving no doubt, many happy memories of the years that have gone so quickly. May Fiona be given a wonderful farewell from St Patrick´s in Kaponga next Monday.
