Arlene Coughenour Obituary
Arlene F. Coughenour, 73, of Masontown, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at her home. She was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Uniontown to the late Harry and Phoebe (Molton) Walter and also was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles B. Coughenour. Arlene was a member of Masontown United Methodist Church and the Springdale Ladies Golf League and retired from the Herald-Standard newspaper, where she was a sales representative in the advertising department for more than 20 years. A strong, independent and creative woman, her abiding faith and love for her family were a great comfort to her. She was a proud mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her friends, many of whom she met through golfing leagues and card clubs. Left to cherish her memory are children Charles R. "Rick" Coughenour (Nanette), of Allison Park, and Susan B. Ansel (Lou Jr.), of McClellandtown; grandchildren Nicholas K. Coughenour and Austin L. Ansel; sister Shirley Pavlik, of Uniontown; brothers J.R. Walters, of Uniontown, and George Molton (Alice), of Pittsburgh, and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and until 11 a.m. services Monday in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., a Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 N. Main St., Masontown. The Rev. Robert Lewis will officiate. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Masontown-German Public Library or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
