So sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He was a lovely man who I held very dear and am pleased I got the chance to catch up with him earlier this year. He passed his love of hockey on to me and now my family too. He was also a good friend to my mother.
Our thoughts are with you all at this sad time.

To David, Ngaere, Yvonne and family,
We would like to pass on our condolenences at the passing of Fred.Fred had a great passion for hockey which he passed onto you all and to his grandchildren. Which is a great legacy. He coached many of us over the years . On Grass at Awatuna! and followed many of those players who went on to Represent Various Provinces and New Zealand. The many years, days and hours that he coached, watched ,supported and had a opion on how the game should be played will be sadly missed espically at the New Plymouth turf. Its people like your father that make our sport all the richer and he leaves many fond memories behind for all those that new Fred.
Our thoughts are with you all at this sad time.
