I first knew Gill when she married Garth and moved from the Eltham Post Office to the Hawera Post Office where I was working. She did wonderful calligraphy in the opening pages of our wedding album. Over the years with our connections with the Weir family, we spent time with Gill and Garth, and indeed became neighbours in Waihi Road for a few years.
