I met Grant (Hori) at Hawera High School and in 1974, we were in the same class, and pretty much sat next to each other in every class we attended together. Also, we were in the 1st XV together. After leaving school, we went seperate ways but still kept in touch and saw each other when possible. I made sure I called at his home in early 2023 when visiting NP to have a good chat to him and he seemed positive he had the cancer under control. A truly top man, loyal, "friends forever" type of guy. Regards to Julie and the boys. A huge loss for his family and friends. RIP Hori. Trevor Hansen, Papamoa.

To Julie and family, it is very sad news. Grant had a long fight and now it is over. I have great memories of Grant and his Mum as I virtually lived with them for 6 months or more back in the late 1970s. My thoughts are with Julie and the whole Julian family, I hope he has a lovely send off on Saturday.
