Your family were amazing ngaere with there stories to share. They all did so well. You will be proud of them as would Ian. Such a great fellow, he will be missed by all. I was so glad to have been able to share my iPad with him on the Saturday night before he went home from Tbh so he could watch the cricket and rugby.

It is with sadness we note the passing of Ian (Legs) Eliason life member clubs stalwart and legend of the Kaponga Rugby Football Club. Our sympathy goes to Ngaire and the Eliason family at this very sad time. Club members are asked to attend the service for Ian at the TSB Stadium, Pukekura Raceway, New Plymouth, on Thursday 28th February, at 11.00am. Guard of honour to be formed, club dress to be worn.

The Taranaki Rugby Football Union (Inc) records with great sadness the passing of our Patron, Past President, Life Member and double centurion, Ian ‘Legs’ Eliason. A true legend of our sport, and a humble gentleman at all times. He was ‘one of a kind’ whose 222 games for the province will never be bettered and who will be fondly remembered by all. We extend our deepest sympathies to Ngaire and family and thank you for sharing Legs with our sport.
