Ian LORD Obituary

Born 19 May 1936, died 27 April 2024, in New Plymouth, after a short illness. Greatly loved and devoted husband of Aileen for 65 years. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Brenda and Michael (Tasmania), Peter and Janet (Auckland), and Catherine and Paul (Taupo). Much loved grandfather of Henry, Polly, Maggie, Daisy; Rhys, Jenna; Bowan, and Bobbie-Jo, and great-grandfather of Isalyn and Holly. All messages may be sent to 'The Lord Family', c/- PO Box 4016, New Plymouth 4340, or left online at wabraham.co.nz/notices Family and friends are invited to attend a service at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 106 Powderham Street, New Plymouth, on Wednesday 1 May 2024 at 11.00am, followed by a private cremation. Its sorry to see a great Normanby icon is now at rest. Growing up on the farm at Normanby the Yellow & Green trucks of Norfolk & Son & later Ian Lord transport were regular visitors being drive by the Lord boys. What great memories i have. Ian & his brothers had a great work ethic & very business like. The Yellow & Green trucks would at every Hawera sale day on a Thursday.I recall the S Bedford trucks towing at trailer loaded with stock travelling up the Boylan Road on their way to the Waitara works. Rest easy Ian you days of work are over
