Jaz HINTON Obituary

I met Jaz in year 9 well running cross country, I noticed his lively eyes and his gratefulness. He encouraged me many times through out school and that earnt my respect, his work ethic was unmatched and his kindness was genuine. I only ever met Kaleb but my love and respect goes out to the Hintons. Moe mai ra e hoa.

I was lucky enough to spend so many endless hours at the Hintons growing up.The first day of school at Mangorei in Mrs Stuck's class was the day I became best friends with Zandra and nothing has changed. Although Zandra and I spent a lot of time avoiding Jaz and Kaleb and telling them to go away because we were doing 'girl things' I still felt like they were the brothers I never had. I remember jumping on the tramp, running around on the farm, the classic Hinton bomb fires, and even some fights that involved knives and forks being thrown. Watching Jaz grow, and face his challenges was so inspiring. He always looked on the bright side with his contagious smile and love for helping everyone around him. I will miss seeing his stories whether it was him doing 100 push-ups shirtless of course or an appreciation post for someone who brought love and light to him. Jaz brought light to so many people's lives and will be remembered forever.

So very grateful to have spent time with you all in Cromwell, July 2022. So much laughter over a legendary game of cards around the dining room table. Jaz had our grandson on his knee and did a great job of coaching him to win. Thanks for that precious memory.
