Joan ANDREOLI Obituary

With deep sadness, we share the passing of Joan. Dearly loved wife and soulmate of Ernie for 69 beautiful years. Joan passed peacefully at the age of 87 years, with Ernie by her side - holding her, just as he always did, on Monday, 2nd June 2025 at Hawera Hospital. Loved mother of Paul (Hawera), Jane and Carey (New Plymouth), Michael and Debra (Te Awamutu). Loved nana of all her grandchildren Kylie, Melissa; Lauren and Moose, Asha; and Hayden, Nathan, and Brittany. Loved by her great-grandchildren Shaniya, Jaxon, Taya, Noah; Sienna, Hunter; Savanna, Tyler, Tristan, and Caden. A well-deserved rest after many obstacles. Many thanks to Joan's caregivers and the staff of Hawera Hospital for their professional care of our much-loved wife and mum. Requiem mass will be celebrated for Joan at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Hawera, on Tuesday 10th June 2025, commencing at 11.00am, after which the funeral will move to the Hawera Cemetery. Rosary will be prayed in the church Monday evening at 7.00pm.

Joan, Ernie, Paul - Mel & Ky

I remember being a young little kiddo riding around on the horse at Ernie & Joan´s farm, I´ll never forget that - It was a sweet as day, I´ll never forget it.

We played Rummicub, (which I highly recommend), I got to cuddle a baby goat. We made butter and Ernie showed me how to milk a cow (and pranked me at the same time if I may add!!) a great family time from my childhood I´ll never forget.

I´m so sorry for everyone´s loss, and Joan may you rest in peace with love, an amazing soul & beautiful lady - we will all miss you. Thank you all for the wonderful memories we all have shared. One of my coolest childhood memories if I may add.

Joan & Ernie, thank you for welcoming me into your home and Paulie, thank you for always being there for me too, I hope you´re okay, I hope to catchup with you soon.

Much love <3 - From Tazzy

Joan was a very special lady who I remember very fondly from my childhood. Myself and my sisters spent many, many hours with the Andreoli's at the farm. While mum (Kim) rode Sherry, Joan would spoil us with treats and we spent many happy hours playing in her beautiful garden while she showed us the flowers - and we never got in trouble for picking them either! Thanks you for the fun Joan, and always for your kindness. Love to Ernie, your wife was one of a kind x

For you Joan's family, it is your time to take up the seats in the front of the church. Such a lovely lady was Joan- the go-to florist for so many cask arrangements for the Ararata families (and beyond) over the years. Always happy- always creative- you will be sorely missed Joan Andreoli. These last months have not been easy, and your caring team have felt your pain. Now it is time- with the road rising to meet you and the sun shining warmly on your back, then until we all meet again, may you rest in peace. Our condolences to you and yours Ernie- life can be the same after the loss of a trinket, but never after the loss of a treasure. Ina Gubb & Malcolm Harding
