Joan was a remarkable lady, kind, warm giving with a wicked sense of humour and wit. The friendship she formed with my parents in Hawera in the 70s on their arrival as newbies to the country, will never be forgotten by the family.
It´s been a privilege to have had Joan in our lives.

I remember being a young little kiddo riding around on the horse at Ernie & Joan´s farm, I´ll never forget that - It was a sweet as day, I´ll never forget it.

We played Rummicub, (which I highly recommend), I got to cuddle a baby goat. We made butter and Ernie showed me how to milk a cow (and pranked me at the same time if I may add!!) a great family time from my childhood I´ll never forget.

I´m so sorry for everyone´s loss, and Joan may you rest in peace with love, an amazing soul & beautiful lady - we will all miss you. Thank you all for the wonderful memories we all have shared. One of my coolest childhood memories if I may add.

Joan & Ernie, thank you for welcoming me into your home and Paulie, thank you for always being there for me too, I hope you´re okay, I hope to catchup with you soon.

Erine and family sorry to hear of Joan's passing we enjoyed coming to mow the lawn and garden wil miss our chats and being spoilt with biscuits and lemon drink RIL joan u are going to b missed.

The Taranaki Irish Social Club wish to extend our condolences to Ernie and family with the sad passing of Joan. Joan contributed to the success of our functions in the early days with flower arrangements and also served on the committee from 1977 to 1983.

Daughter Jane was an entrant in the Rose of Tralee contest and her daughter was also an entrant in later years.

Joan was a very special lady who I remember very fondly from my childhood. Myself and my sisters spent many, many hours with the Andreoli's at the farm. While mum (Kim) rode Sherry, Joan would spoil us with treats and we spent many happy hours playing in her beautiful garden while she showed us the flowers - and we never got in trouble for picking them either! Thanks you for the fun Joan, and always for your kindness. Love to Ernie, your wife was one of a kind x
