John BAKE Obituary

BAKE, John Alfred. - Service No. 441759 L.A.C. RNZAF 1943 – 1946 Guadal Canal Solomon Islands. John died peacefully at Chalmers Home, New Plymouth on Wednesday, 3 July 2013. In his 90th year. Loved husband of Margaret for 51 years. Loved father of Chris Bake (New Plymouth) and father and father-in-law of Sue and Ross Topping (Ratapiko). Grandfather of Joseph and Samuel. Only brother of Margaret Watson (deceased), uncle of Barbara Watson and Anne Anderson. Also great uncle of Joshua, Ben and Karyn (Melbourne and Sydney Australia). Messages to 89 Dorset Avenue, New Plymouth.
A service for John will be held at Vospers Chapel, 257 Devon Street East, New Plymouth on Friday, 5 July 2013, at 2pm followed by a private cremation.

Hi Margaret and Chris. I was sorry to read about John's death. He is one of the nicest men I have meet and it was a privilege to have worked for him.
We used to count the number of sneezes he used to do. 43 was, I think, his best. He was one of natures gentleman and always so proud of Margret's achievements in the photographic world.
I am out of the country and very sorry I can't be at John's farewell.
