John was a founding member of the Taranaki Mediaeval Society. His knowledge, skill and love of working with metal was unprecedented. His swords and helmets are a great legacy. He gave of his time to us all freely and always found that time to help where ever possible. He inspired many others to learn the craft and was always happy to share anything he knew. We will miss you John, but you will never be forgotten.
