So sorry to hear John has passed away. I was in the same class as John and Jenene all through primary school - and also on the Rahotu/Opunake school bus through high school. I remember John as being cheerful, calm and kind. Sincere condolences to the Murphy family.

my brother John was a wonderful father to his children and put them first in everything he did They were his life - The legacy he leaves behind are his children and Gran children He was the hardest worker i have ever come across not only that but he took pride in his work this i know as i worked for him Of course i was the lacky while John was the main painter I remember him standing back and looking at the completed work and saying to me F k i am good aye Danny and of course you said Yes But with the same dedication and pride he put in his work he put twice as much dedication into caring and providing for his children What a terrific Father he was and leaves behind a huge legacy in his children Not only that he also leaves us an example that hard work and dedication to your children is something for everyone to aspire to

John was a crack up very funny. Larger than life at family gatherings. Very sad. My heart goes out to family and friends kia kaha love from jeanie and ben xxx

Passed away peacefully 21 November 2024. Beloved son of the late Daphne and Gerald. Loved brother of Catherine, Colleen, Gavin, Jim, David, Jenene, Billy, Angela, Patricia, Patrick, Kevin (deceased), Danny, Shavaughn, Timothy, and Norah.
