O'DONOGHUE,
John Francis:
On Sunday 15 May 2022, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family, aged 66 years. Beloved husband of the late Diane, son of Michael and June (both dec), son-in-law of James and Valma Sinden (both dec), brother and brother-in-law of Philip, Mark and Katherine, and Kathy and Bruce Northcott. Loved uncle of nephews Blair, Corey and their partners, nieces Celia, Sophie, Alice, Madeline, Lillian and their partners, and John's 13 great-nephews and nieces.
A caring soul, gifted musician, song writer and nature lover, loved by all who knew him.
A private cremation was held on Monday 16 May 2022, at John's request. Special thanks to doctors, nurses and support staff of Wellington Hospital and Kenepuru Motor Neurone Disease Community Support Team for their professional, warm and considerate care of John. I corresponded with John after we 'met' on Your New Zealand. Like him, I love birds and never tire of watching them. His videos of the 'pooks' are treasures and should be in a national archive. I will greatly miss the emails but wouldn't wish him back with that terrible illness. I made a donation to Motor Neurone as a little memorial.
