Sue, John and families.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Jack.
I have great memories of Jack and Ethel when they lived in Te Kuiti. Jack coached the Waitete Senior Rugby Team and did a very good job. After rugby on Saturday, we often end up at Jack and Ethel's home in Rata Street.
Jack was a great man. I'm so sorry I can't be present with you today to celebrate his life. My sincere condolences to you all.

Fond memories of my cousin Jack, I remember as a 5 year old in Ranfurly when Jack was away in the Navy my brother and I built a replica of HMNZS Gambia out the back of Pringle's Garage with any wood and car parts we could find and even part of my clock. Great to talk to him on his 99th birthday. Love to the family, from cousin Gordon Pringle, Oamaru.

Sue John and Families,
Sincere condolences to you all at this sad time in your lives.
The Pringle and Verran families friendship started when two 18 year olds from differing parts of the country joined the Navy to serve on The Gambia.
From their initial meeting on board their friendship lasted the rest of their lives.
We have fond memories of the annual ANZAC commemorations, when our fathers would join with their Navy friends to remember the years they spent overseas.
The four spent holidays around the country, Jack and John playing golf, Ethel and Daphne probably shopping.
It continued with an unofficial Gambia reunion at Dawson falls in 1994.
With the passing of John in 2009, Jack has been a constant in Daphne’s life until her passing in 2023, giving her moral support when needed.
Jack you were a pillar of society, a real good kiwi bloke, who was the last man standing of the brothers in arms who selfishly left the country along with John Verran,Dick Wilson,Gordon Walsh,Eric Wilcox, Eddie Falgar Vincent Brown and Ted Pratt that thankfully returned from the conflict, but never forgot their fallen comrades.
Rest In Peace Jack, lest we forget.

My thoughts are with you all at this very sad time. my husband Graeme was for many years a member of Jack's Taranaki open bowls team and also some club events. the team knew when the bowl was not p to standard cause Jack would give them his "teapot" look. A true gentleman who will be missed but never forgotten.

I had the absolute privilege of working alongside Jack during his employment with the New Plymouth City Electricity Department. Jack was responsible for the selection and overall general supervision of the significant number of Electrical Apprentices that were currently being trained by the Department. Jack's experience and LifeSkills knowledge along with his invaluable talent for being able to identify the most suitable applicants was outstanding. Jack was greatly respected by all who worked with him including the significant number of now registered electricians here in New Plymouth and no doubt around the world. Jack was a true gentleman of the highest order and his contribution to the electrical industry can never be forgotten. During my close association with Jack we had many conversations and his work ethic and standards were indeed an inspiration to me. Rest in peace Jack as your work is now complete.

The Paritutu Bowling Club members are saddened at the passing of our Patron and Life Member Jack. He was a true gentleman, humble and considerate and always interested in our members and the Club. Still paying bowls in his 90's and at 98 years was on hand to deliver the first kitty of the season. He will be missed. Our sympathies are with his family at this time. Members are requested to wear club shirts at his funeral service at Abrahams, 2.00pm, Tuesday 18th March.
