John SARCICH Obituary

I had John as the site Manager for Fitzroy Engineering Site Div. at the Waitara Valley GTG site, to which I were a Supervisor with about 5 or 6 Foreman responsible for and about 40 men. John was always a very fair and understanding colouful, friendly boss. Enjoying the social side of life as well, and well respected by all that served under him. My condolences to Melva and family. Remember John from way way back when Mike Dines employed him as CEO (back then General Manager) of Newcan Pipelines. I always wondered how he managed to get the back cuff of one trouser leg to stay hooked over the top of his Redwing Oilman boot. I think he was Taranaki business's introduction to the concept of a CEO who could move from company to company in that role. I've always admired John for his manner towards a young and lowly worker as I was then and his obvious skills in the role. RIP John.
