Bet was an important member of the Taranaki newspapers family. We shared many laughs when both working evenings. So sorry to hear she's gone. Condolences to her girls, whom she loved so much.

I have so many memories of my long friendship with Bet, over 67yrs. We were just great buddies who had similar interests, singing, dancing, St Andrew's Church, our Children, her love of babies & being first to bath my babies after arriving home with them. She was so loyal always, but most of all she was fun to be with & a great Mum. I was always sad to see her on return visits back to New Plymouth from Australia where I have now lived for 32yrs. There were only a few times when she same back to me & said my name! But I was happy to know she was in a happy place. She is now at peace after a very long goodbye to her loving outstanding family. I was so blessed to have watched her wonderful service yesterday.

So sorry to hear of Bet's passing. She was a truly adorable, fun woman who enjoyed life and her children. I'll never forget "doing" Bet's makeup, at her request, for Megan and Jan's 21st. Loved the work she did - and seeing her, co-ordinating and selling handmade knitting which sadly is no more. Love to you all.

Thinking of all the family at this sad time. I have watched Jan and Megan care for their beloved Mum for many years .Jan who has been on the spot and giving so much to make sure Bett was given the best care .Megan wishing she was there beside her too. Bett is now at rest and you can now rest knowing you did your best at the time. She was such a special lady lots of "spunk" and fun and energy . Latterly not so, so try to recall all those precious times . She was indeed a Treasure. Lots of love to All. Sue In Whakatane
