Swimming baths,High School and Aero Club. You seemed to follow me around. Just wished you weren't there when I was taxiing CTG with the handle still on the nose wheel. Cost me a big shout at the aero Club bar. Genuine good bugger. RIP

Hey Keithy, Just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for taking us to meet our sister for the first time. Thank you for being you, honest, straight up (all four foot of you :)). Thank you for being a great mentor and friend to us all. But most of all, thank you for the friendship, the brotherhood, the shoulder when needed and the love you had for Dad (Baz). I know your 5 o'clock drinkies will not quite be the same but I also know there will always be a glass for you at the table. We will roast and toast you and the great memories of you and wish you good travels on your next great adventure. Jessica and Rebecca you are so lucky to have had such an amazing, fun loving Dad. Although no longer here Keith will never be gone. He lives on in all those who have had the good fortune to meet him and in the lives and hearts of his friends and family. Our thoughts are with you all at this time.

Keith aka Pinky you will be very sadly missed. Stratford High will not be the same. We have many memories of PE. You were firm but fair (I realise now). It wasn't until I had been at school quite sometime before I learnt that Pinky wasn't actually your name. Then as an adult we both had the pleasure of being in your classes as an aide. It was odd going from student to work associate and getting to know you on a different level. You will be missed there is no doubt by a great few people. RIP

Rest easy now Unc..I'm sorry we weren't as close in later years, but I will remember with great fondness having you in my life as a kid growing up, and the fun times you bought to my life..tickling me on my face with your beard and calling me 'floss'. I thank you for that. You're with all who have gone before you..Nana has another of her boys with her, KC has his bro and Mum has her baby bro..Give them all my love and as the Angels wrap you in their loving wings may you know the true Peace, Happiness and love that will come to us all when we return home to Spirit. Love you and thank you.

Nga mihi aroha ki te whanau Caldwell... Janice, Jessica, Rebecca & mokos and all of Keith's siblings. My relationship with Keith began back in the late 60's, and he also taught my daughter and then my grandchildren, and I also suspect their were other whanau he would have taught multiple generations. Your time is done now Keith, go and take that well earned rest, and fly with the angels. Moe mai ra e te rangatira...haere haere haere atu ra...

Very sad to hear of Mr. Caldwell's passing. I wasn't too great at PE but he was a great teacher and form teacher. He used to let us have form class parties sometimes and we would all bring food. I think he was quietly rolling his eyes at us the whole time but I'm pretty sure he liked eating the pikelets and cake we brought so he was okay with it... Rest in peace Pinky.

A true friend for some 57 years. Keith will be remembered fondly by our family for his openness and humour, and his interest in their lives. For me he was a mentor, sounding board, best mate and a supporter in many ways particularly as the two of us shared common and varied interests at university. We will miss him.

Pinky at home when we were little, Mr Caldwell at school as a teacher and coach, and Keith I don't actually think I heard that often lol Thank you for being part of my early and teen years. You always made time to talk and definitely give me grief especially with Mr Pugh & Mr Walker in toe on athletic trips. Dunedin is one of my favourite athletic trip memories with you three. You were a great mentor and a proud father.
Barry, Geoff, Janice and the girls our family are thinking of you all. x

You were a great father to our girls, remained my friend throughout. Thank you for being there for me when I needed a chat. You'll be with your good mates in heaven now and reunited with Kevin and Joy and I know you'll looking down on Jess, Becca, Ada and wee Cora. You should be proud of the legacy you've left behind. You've made so many positive influences on many lives you'll never be forgotten.

Keith Lynn Caldwell: it is with immense sadness that we mourn the loss of a most treasured former staff member and loyal friend to Stratford High School. Keith, a former pupil of the school, returned from university to teach in the phys-ed department and held the responsibility as head of department for many years. He was loved and greatly respected by his students and colleagues, both past and present and will be deeply missed by the whole school community. Students, staff and the Board of Trustees extend their thoughts and sympathy to the family at this saddest of times.

So much water under the bridge, not to mention beers, wines and spirits! Our lives will never be the same again. Bestest friend for 60 plus years, wonderful God father to our daughter and sometime 'guidance counselor' to our boys! So many stories to be told and of course some not! You will be sorely missed by us all. We've lost a true icon of our community.

Very sad to hear of Pinky's passing; he's an institution in the fabric of Stratford. I remember him being eagle eyed - always saw the boys who had their socks, funny, encouraging even to kids like me and really direct - you always knew what he was thinking. He was an awesome teacher and, in later life, someone to have a chat with in the pub or club. Deepest sympathy to his family. Rest easy Keith.

Pinky taught me in my younger years at SHS. I was never a great PE student.
It was nice to catch up with him again during my adult years as Librarian at SHS. We shared the same birthday with Michael Jackson & Chrystal Broadmore (SHS-teacher) Always had a laugh about that. Condolences to the family RIP Pinky'

Was shocked and saddened to catch up with this news. My sincere condolences to all his family - he was a man very easy to like and admire. He coached me all through my running at SHS, and was responsible pretty much for me trying out every type of athletic track and field event that was going! One would normally wish him to rest in peace...but I bet he's still running...and loving it. I hope so.

Such sadness at the passing of a legend of a man. He was my running coach all through high school. I remember him as encouraging, growley on occasion, and with a wicked sense of humour ( sometimes hard to detect). 36 years post leaving school, I would on occasion think of him, such was his influence. I remember he always said half two, or half 11, instead of half past 2 or half past 11. Funny the things you never forget. Rest In Peace
