Dear Fliss,

It is with great sadness and shock that I write this message of condolence to you and the boys. I first met Kenny when he applied for a Vocational Training post at my dental practice in Glasgow some 23 years ago just after graduating from Glasgow University. He was an immediate hit with both staff and patients due to his friendly and kindly manner and was to be a huge asset to the practice. After his year of VT he moved on, eventually moving to New Zealand but I caught up with him a few years later when he made a short, temporary return to Glasgow. Meantime my son Innes had also moved out here and settled in Rotorua and, during one of our many visits, my wife and I travelled to New Plymouth where we met up with you and Kenny for dinner. I was delighted to see that he had made such a success of both his life and his practice in such a beautiful area and I believe that when you all visited Rotorua on holiday you called in to see Innes and his family, Words cannot express our sadness at this hugely difficult time for you and the boys but I hope you all can take some comfort in the outpouring of sympathy which marks the passing of someone so special both personally and professionally. All the old staff from Glasgow that knew Kenny have asked me to pass on their sincerest condolences, as Anne, I, Innes and Debs do also.

Kenny was always the cleverest and the funniest guy in the room, Sacred Heart Primary included, and he had that rare ability to get on well with everyone, even the real bampots! Such heartbreaking news.

Kenneth you will be sorely missed.
I lived in New Zealand for a time and when I first arrived Kenneth and his family were good enough to give me a room for a few nights despite having never met me.

Yet when I first saw Kenneth I recognised him immediately as he looked just like his father and he and is family were nothing but kind and welcoming. I knew no one in this country and they made me feel at home.

I hope Bernadette, Willy, Katherine, Fliss ,Luke and Matty can take some solace in how well he was thought of by others.

He was a good man and he left a lasting impression on me.

I remember walking home with Kenny from our local night club when we were 18. We chatted about dentistry as I was a dental nurse at the time and Kenny was doing his dentistry degree. Really bright guy and a gentleman. RIP Kenny

My heartfelt sympathy to Felicity and family, Kenny was my dentist and my flying colleague, I have many happy memories of our trip to the South Island several years ago. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

I remember in Primary 6 me and Kenny had a disagreement in the playground playing football and we started fighting. The two least likely people in the whole school to even lose our temper. We were pals again soon as we got to class lol. Loved Kenny. He was a gem of a guy. My heart goes out to all his family at this very sad time. Lots of love x
