Many happy funny memories. It is many years since we worked together at IRD but whenever our paths crossed Eoin's greetings were like they were just yesterday. Always shared about his family who were obviously so important to him and he made me feel that I shared his life with him. He was one of a kind.muchove to his family. Denise Elstone

To Chrissy and family, our condolences on Eoin's death. Crowbar was a good man, fun to be around, particularly those IRD days in the 80s coming to mind. Many happy memories of Crowbar, plenty of laughs, pranks and drinks, especially Friday afternoon happy hours on top floor of "Perry Dines". R.I.P Crowbar, from Craig and Karen and family.

Farewell to my old workmate Eoin. I worked with him at Inland Revenue from when he started as a cadet in the early 1980´s until I retired in 2022.
From the start he was a character of high spirits and good humour. For about 10 years from the mid 1990´s he and I often worked on tax audits outside New Plymouth usually spending a week at a time on this work. These weeks were challenging but rewarding and Eoin had a special knack of putting staff of the companies we visited at ease and quickly building a rapport which helped the process greatly.
There were some amusing incidents one of which I will mention here. We drove up to the company premises and while Eoin parked the car, I went inside to announce our arrival and introduced myself to the accountant with the customary handshake. Eoin came in at fast rate and shot out his hand for a handshake. I had noticed something that Eoin had missed. The accountant did not have a right arm with the result that Eoin ended up shaking thin air. A handshake then took place with Eoin having to shake the left hand with his right by twisting his palm backwards. Both embarrassing and funny and all took it in good humour.
With limited time and sometimes a lot of issues to deal with on these audits Eoin was the man who collated all the issues at the end of the day to discuss with the client.
While I was the senior in these audits in later years the position was reversed when he became my Team Leader. Being a Team Leader was a learning curve for him with a lot of stress involved as he learned the job. He developed into a very effective Team Leader with multiple responsibilities. Eoin always looked after my interests which I greatly appreciated particularly towards the end of my career when new systems and methods were introduced which I found challenging.
A great family man gone far too soon.
My commiserations to Chrissie, Caitlan and Phoebe. You will have great memories and Eoin was so proud of you all.
Unfortunately, due to my own circumstances I will not be at your farewell Eoin Farewell to my old workmate Eoin. I worked with him at Inland Revenue from when he started as a cadet in the early 1980´s until I retired in 2022.
