Dear Marlene & family, shocked and saddened to hear from Alison yesterday of Kevins passing. Yes, Te Wera has gone quiet, so many memories from school bus, high school bus to Douglas, mail run, Kevin dating the girl in the store! Marrying the girl in the store, buying the store, making Mum & Dads hay, ultimately buying Mum & Dads farm. A big man with a big heart, also so willing to give a hand. Our sincerest condolences and love in your loss of a very special person.

Love to all the family

It was a privilege to have known Kevin & to have experienced one of his 'guided' bus tours, as my mother Norah (Kevin's 1st cousin) & I did marking the 100th birthday of her uncle Jim a few years ago. Norah Hegarty (need Walsh) & our Hegarty family thoughts are with the O'Brien family at this sad loss. May the stories live on.

I am sad to hear of your loss - your dad was in many ways a big part of my childhood growing up when on holiday at Con and Nora Coultons farm - he would come bounding into the house full of joviality and happiness carrying the weekly groceries. It was also wonderful to meet up with him again at Uncle Jacks funeral a few years ago - older but certainly just a gorgeous as ever - he will be missed in more ways that one but what a wonderful memory we all have of him
