Condolences to Doreen and his family . I only found out today , I worked with Stick in the late 1970s in the Pilbara and met his lovely family . Stick dropped in and seen me on two occasions since then we had a good friendship. He met my son Michael Thompson in the Timor Sea this year . RIP my old mate

Sincere condolences to Doreen, Shohni and Family. It was a privilege to work with such an outstanding man. A genuine warm hearted dedicated and hard working gentleman that gave so much. The back deck will never be the same without you. Even when times got tough for you, you always reached out to check on the wellbeing of others. You are and will continue to be sadly missed. Sixteen yrs ago i started in this industry and haven't looked back......This was largely due to the help and guidance i got from 2 old salty sea dogs commonly referred to as Foot and Stick..(Alan Golding and Malcolm Perry)..These 2 deck foreman apart from showing me the ropes, also taught me a few other things about life along the way......A few yrs back i flew into the States only to hear that we had lost Foot,Now i fly into Korea and hear Stick has gone too.....Sad day indeed for all that knew him...RIP Stick.....Go and have a beer with Foot...You deserve it...You will find him in the Rigging Loft .....

My dearest condolonces to Dorene, Meika,Gemma and Shohni for your sad lost. Malcolm (Stick)will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Stick in the oil and gas construction industry. As you know Stick and I were very close and spent many years together offshore. I am deeply sorry I was unable to attend his funeral as I am offshore in Indonesia and I only found out the sad news yesterday from a colleague. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time. Arohamai ki te whanau o Perry,ive known Malcohm . he was the best chippy i ever knew,there was number of accasions i wanted to go into bussiness with him.definitely a guy who measures twice cuts once ,kind an to the point.I will treasure those moments mal.Ka haere rangatira ki te kainga o te rangi.he korowai o runga te whanau ,kia watea kia watea Amene. and mal you werent a stick,hahaha
