Dear Annette and family, so sorry to hear of Joyce's passing. It's not the same now walking past her room and not seeing her smile. Another treasure lost from the Annie Brydon upstairs crew. She was always up for a chat and a laugh. Nana (Bev Thomas) will miss her dearly. Thinking of you all.

Deepest sympathy to all of Joyce's family on her death. We have very fond memories of our time at Whakamara when Trevor taught there in the 70's. Raewyn was at the school at that time. Joyce was such a community minded person and she and Colin extended a warm welcome to us. We remember well how friendly, kind and fun loving Joyce was and always ready to support and lend a hand with events at the school or in the district.

Joyce was such a lovely lady. Her mother, Doris Cockerton and my mother Zeta Rowe, were great friends and neighbours, I think during and after the War. When she was a child Joyce evidently used to call my mother Missy Rowe. Whenever I saw Joyce in Hawera we´d always stop for a chat. What great memories you all will have. Colleen Madgwick (nee Rowe).

Joyce what a wonderful lady you were. First got to know you thru the motorhome association. What fun we had travelling away an at rallies. We all missed you when your sight stopped you travelling. Then I caught up with you again at Croquet. Your kindness to others showed thru. You always were willing to listen an help if it was needed. I was able to catch up again when you retired from croquet as Elaine another ex player was up on your floor at Annie Brydon so was able to keep in touch. You were a great person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Rest in peace Joyce you deserve it.

Joyce was a very valued an inspiring member of Park Croquet. With her vision problem it was with great amazement how she managed to run hoops etc. She always encouraged others and was a well respected member. We were sorry when your vision finally stopped you playing. Rest in peace Joyce.
