I loved every minute of working, surfing, and living with Mark, we did so much together for over forty years.
He was a magical friend that brought happiness to all, his witt and humour brought laughter to any situation. I got more than my fair share of Marks company and I wish others could have got some.
We swapped beers for cups of tea in the last few years but the result was the same ,laughter.
So many memories , I'll miss you Mark.

I’ve missed you a long time Uncle Mark, our fond memories will never be forgotten My children, your great-nieces, would have been richer to know you and to love you; your humour, and your happy easy-going nature. I wish that my husband John could have met you, ‘Brothers in Arms’ is his favourite too. Until we meet again

My sincere condolences. Mark and Murray are the same ages as my oldest 2 kids. Mark was only 2 years old or less when his dad, my uncle died at the age of 42.,and the family moved to N.Z. the following year. I didn't see Mark again till he and Murray came back to Canada and spent some time here at their brother Laurie"s. I enjoyed getting to know them as adults. He will be missed.

Your nieces and nephew will miss how you made us laugh. You played music, danced and sang with us. Threw us in the air when we were young (and caught us). You spent time with us. We will always remember, with love, the good times and the happy childhood you helped make for us, and we miss you.
Love from Tim, Rosie and Aria.

Mark Alan Beenen was a much loved son, brother, uncle cousin to his original family.
In New Zealand and Canada we mourn his passing and celebrate his way of making everyone feel like a long lost friend.
We have missed him for a long time.
Our memories of our Mark can not be removed or forgotten.
Love to those left behind who bear the loss of his company.
