MACKAY, Mary Edith Ann
(née Rush): QSM
Of Levin. Born 23 January 1940 to Denis and Mavis Rush (Eltham) and died peacefully on 14 January 2023 in Palmerston North Hospital after a short illness, surrounded by family. Brave, funny and feisty until the last. Dearly loved wife of Lindsay. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of John and Belinda, Helen and Simon, and Andrew. Adored and adoring Gran of Noah, Liam, Oscar, Theo, Lucy, Alex and Casey. Beloved sister and sister-in-law of Sally and the late Shayle (Auckland), Charles and Mary (New Plymouth) and Val. Loved and appreciated by her wider family and friends. Passionate gardener and renowned floral art designer. Former President of Floral Art Society of NZ and Vice-President of World Association of Floral Artists. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at Levin Uniting Church at 2.00pm on Wednesday 18 January. Our thoughts and Prayers to Lindsey at this time
As you celebrate the life of our cousin Mary. With a life long Love of Gardening especially flowers from as was her Mum and her service to the community in New Zealand and representing New Zealand
Both her Mom and Dad did also served in our home town of Eltham Taranaki
One of My memories of Mary was her and Lindsey’s wedding Reception in the Eltham Town Hall with many beautiful Vases of flowers so lovely
So we believe she is rejoicing with her family in Heaven and many gardens of flowers
Also a Memory of the two Rush families Circus in our front yard with clowns Angels and animals (our pets) all for a Penny
