Mary A. Skinner

PORTVILLE - Mary A. Skinner, 75, passed away Tuesday (April 8, 2025) at Olean General Hospital.

Born Aug. 12, 1949, in Olean, she was the daughter of Raymond and Ruth Burrows Putt.

Mary lived her later years in Portville where she was cared for by her close friend Alan Gore. She had worked for a period of time for SubCon Industries and enjoyed the friends she made.

Her greatest joy came from her pets, particularly her dogs over the years. She was currently enjoying the companionship of her chihuahua, Brady, who will certainly miss her absence.

She loved doing scratch-off tickets and playing bingo.

Mary leaves behind her sister, Josephine Reed of Olean; her caretaker and dear friend, Alan; and a son, John Cole.

She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Deborah Skinner; and a sister, Betty Bush.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held on a future date with her close family and friends. Burial of her cremated remains will be next to her daughter Deborah in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
