Melville SMITH Obituary
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday 19th May 2022. Dearly loved husband for 66 years of Leone, loved father and father-in-law of Jenny and Brian; Shirley and Donald; Colleen and Grant; Steve and Helen; Roger and Denise and their families. A service for Melville will be held at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Juliet Street, Stratford, on Thursday 26th May 2022, at 11.00am, followed by a private cremation. For those unable to attend, you may view the livestream on https://vimeo.com/event/2140987. In preference to flowers, a donation to Hospice Taranaki would be appreciated and may be left at the service or made via internet banking to 15-3948-0365008-80 Ref: Melville Smith. All messages to the Smith family can be sent to C/- PO Box 218, Stratford 4352. Due to venue rules, face masks must be worn.

So sorry to the passing of Mell,right from the time we arrived at Pohokura in 73,Mell was one of the quiet but district greats who we all looked up to as a country gent with good sound advice and understanding.so sorry we missed the day,

Very sorry to hear of Melvie's passing, and wishing Leone, and all of the Smith family my sincere condolences. I will remember Melvie as the nicest man to have as a neighbour and to work for and with, whether shearing, fencing, or in the hay paddock he always did more than his share. A true and kind gentleman.
