A celebration of Merv's life will be held at St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Liardet Street, New Plymouth, on Thursday, 8th May, 2014, at 1.00pm, there after Merv will travel on his final journey where he will be laid to rest at Awanui Cemetery.

Dearest Laurence Family. I am sending you many hugs as you lay your darling Merv to rest today. He was a wonderful encouragement to me in my hunting days. I remember his humour, his big heart, and his love of a rum. I also remember him as a firm, fair and loving Dad. I am personally grateful for his contribution to my life. Lots of love.
