Mike was an awesome neighbour and friend for many years, our children spent many happy hours at Doolally Farm , and the two Mikes enjoyed playing their squash. He always had a cheery greeting, like he was so happy to see you and was interested in what was happening in your world. We feel so lucky to have caught up with Mike and Kirsten in April. Our love and sympathy go to Kirsten and all his children and grandchildren at this sad time. Rest peacefully Mike, you will be greatly missed.

Celtic Rovers extends their condolences to Kirsten and families with the loss of Mike.

Celtic Rovers was formed in December 1995 at the passing of Bill Bracken ( Mike's dad ) and the subsequent wake. The original group was 12 family and friends and this has grown to around 25. We meet annually on the last Saturday/Sunday in June for 12 hours of comradeship and good craic. These gatherings have been as far north at Kaikohe and Te Anau in the south. Mike is the only member to have attended all 30 events. We will toast him at our next meeting in June 2026.

Farewell and RIP Celtic Rover Mikey.

Kevin Bracken for Celtic Rovers.
