Trevor BENTON Obituary

Sending my condolences to shona and family's. I have great memories of hunting and socializing with your mum and dad. We attended several mutual funerals together but sorry I missed your dad's. Janice boots also sends her regards too. We have been sitting at table remembering those times.

I met him & his wife Olga in the late 1970's when I had just arrived in NZ to work as a midwife at Taranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth. They had me to stay on their farm in Aria and made me feel most welcome. I last met them in 2011 when I visited NZ with my husband Mike.

A lovely man, did a lot of work as boss of the garden group in Port Waikato and played a mean game of bowls and also with much pride a good talk to the Tuakau Senior Citizens about the Coborne Reserve gardens. I go back to Mangaotaki days when he was a contractor there. What a great man and friend and he was a neighbour to us in the Mangaotaki Valley. Well respected and hard working.

Deepest sympathy to the family, so many Bentons passed away this year. Thinking of you all.
